#27 On a new album

Of music that is.

I am talking about The Prodigy's new album, Invaders Must Die.
It kicks ass, serious ass.

I think personally that it's taken them back to what they used to be, that's probably helped by the fact that this album features all three of the band members, which is the first time since 1997 or something.

The album as a whole (especially the first few tracks) give you a sense of The Prodigy in their essence, that hardcore in-your-face, skirting the edge of god-knows-what kind of sound. What I particularly like about this album is the way the bass pulls you in instead of throwing you back out (listen to Omen for a real good example of this).
Now yeah, I've always been a huge fan of electronic music, but this album appeals to me in so many ways, the pounding bass (it's a very bass orientated album) and those dirty synth sounds, to name a couple.
I mean, sure, it's got a few ok songs, but I <3 7/11 of the tracks, and it's a very listenable album (although I'm sure Joe would disagree, since he seemingly cannot listen to things I recommend all the way through). it also makes very good driving music, and I would definitely expect to hear Invaders Must Die featured on dancefloors and films alike in the coming year.

I would not however, recommend it to those of you who love the mainstream, Prodigy have stayed true to form, and pumped out 11 tracks of non-conforming, urban disrupting, get your neighbours angry sort of music.
The people I would recommend it for:
  • People who appreciate good music (no matter the genre)
  • People who love their bass
  • People who still arn't too old to stick it to the man (30 year olds and above, that's you)
  • Prodigy fans (ofc)
  • People who love that underground sound
  • People who like drum and bass (It's not a drum and bass album, but it has similar lines)
  • People who love their electronic music
And if you don't fit into any of those categories, give it a go anyway. Just 'casue I like it so much, and if you don't like it, fair doo's. At least you tried it.

So that's my (sorta)review on Invaders Must Die. If I had to give it a mark out of ten, it'd get a 9.

So that is what has been keeping me occupied for the most part this week, and rightly so. Well that, and /b/

So yeah, keep safe out there people

#26 On the closing of good times

So this is the last of my days of freedom.
My family return tomorrow morning like super early, and that means no more doing whatever I want, and most importantly, no more internet in the evenings and shit.

Which to be honest is a bit sucky, actually no. It's super sucky. In fact it has so much suck that I'll need a straw, perhaps even two.
I'm actually seriously considering redecorating my room so that I can get it back. And that means I can have a double bed too, so it isn't that bad I guess. Just a monumental amount of effort. I'd have to move all of my stuff out of my room, then do the walls, then let them dry and crap and then buy new stuff and move them back into my room, etc etc etc

See, effort.

And this blog is taking forever to write, watching Bleach at the same time was a very bad idea, but it is awesome.
And Oh My God. I bought a load of noodles from Costco the other day, and I've still got like 22 packets, there is no way that I can even manage to put a dent in that today, I might be able to eat a few though. I've still got like half a pound of tortilla chips and half a litre of salsa too.
I think I may have bought too much food, well, not that it was expensive, being from Costco and all. I suppose that my returning family can have some, but only if they bring me stuff back.

But yeah, a thank you to all those who came to see me.
So thank you Stephen, Matt, Craig, Rory and Jake (who's still here atm)
We did have good times though =]

Anyway, more Bleach to watch.

Lol, pool's closed, amirite?

#25 On not as awesome as I thought

Because there is nothing to do. Well. Not absolutely nothing, but near enough.
My days so far have comprised of getting up to walk the dog, then sleeping some more, possibly eating something at some point. Going on my computer, and then getting to bed about 4am (ish)
But, I have got some very important stuff done. Like watching the entire Third season of Avatar: The last Airbender.

STOP!!!

Don't even go 'omgz avatard fag ololololollolollolololol. i hates teh avartsdsd, he are noob program for teh_n00bs'

Go die if you think that. Or at least, respect me enough to not poo poo things that I love.

Avatar is awesome for me, end of.
And personally, I think that Book 3 is definitely the best.
I have seasons 1 and 2 on dvd, and tbh I think if you know me, you should borrow them off me and watch them, Region 1 though, so you'll have to watch them on your PC.
It's a sort of crossover between cartoon and animé, containing a mix of both the styles. And yeah, it's a Nickelodeon thingy, but remember, Nick is the first (and only) place that did Invader Zim, one of the darkest and best cartoon's I've ever watched.
(A refresher for you all)Man, I loved that show so much. Gaz was so my favourite character (Dib's little sister), but only 'cause she was so damn angry and could kick anyone's ass. GIR was my second favourite, and probably had the most influence any cartoon character has had on my life.
Actually, that's a very good point, the reason behind my being so not normal is probably because I grew up on stuff like Invader ZIM.
Hmm, I may just start torrenting that now. I feel like I need a really good (and dark) refresher on the crazy world of Jhonen Vasquez.
Actually, wait, Demoniod are hating on my ratio at the moment. I'll have to wait a few days before I can start downloading it.

Right then. Guess it's time for me to go, two screening Weird Science and writing a blog via touch-typing (and subsequently having to check for spelling errors) is starting to piss me off.

Oh, and Weird Science. Epic film, I'd hit it up if I were you.

Keep it real people!

#24 On how this week is gonna be awesome

So, I'm awake, it is like 8am. Which is fail, but my dog needed to be walked, and I couldn't not oblige.
But on the other hand, I am also success, because I have a free house, and ergo, total freedom for the next week or so. For example, yesterday, I went shopping, and guess what I had for breakfast just like 10mins ago?
Fucking Pop Tarts. Oh, and I washed it down with some Coke.
Immense. Lol, I'm such a child.
And I set myself an epic task too, to have leekspin (for those of you don't know what it is, go here: Leekspin) on for the whole time my mum and them lot are away. Not that it's a hard task, Leekspin is fucking epic, and I really don't notice that it's on half the time, but I think that my pc, or the one downstairs will probably restart after a bit, and thus, failing me.Also, I think a lot of this time is going to æ, it already has tbh. But then again, if you could read a documented account of all lulz in exsistence you probably would too.

Oh, and also, pretty much anyone can come round. I have like no food. But if you do wanna come round, phone me beforehand so I'll know.

Has a fun out there people!!

#23 On why 20metre patch cables do actually have a usefull purpose

Aside from techies hanging themselves on.

I kid of course.
No suicide.
I said no.
Good. Now that's cleared up.

The 20metre patch cable that I am in possession of at this moment in time is extremely useful to my good self because: IT GIVES ME INTERNETS!!!!!!!11one
Now, as some of you know, my stepdad takes it upon himself to seemingly make everyone's life about him a living hell. He accomplishes this by being a douche. And a few months ago, my Internet got taked away since I hadn't decorated my room (I know right?). So for the past few months, I've been internet-less on my gaming pc, and more importantly. I've had no World of Warcraft.
But that all changes. Since when I was at my grandma's house at the weekend, I was going through my stuff, and found that I had a 20metre patch cable!!!! I'm not even bothering to wonder why I had a patch cable lying around, or why it was the ridiclious lenght of twenty metres. It was in some random router box (which didn't have a router in now that I come to think of it, super old school routing. Two pc's, one cable :P).
So yeah, happy ^_^ Oh and I'll have internets for the whole week that my mum and all are going away (which is awesome), cause I might just have to resubscribe to World of Warcraft and nerd it out (18+ hours a day) for the entire week, joy, I can feel the r.s.i already.
But for now, it falls to me to get my pwn back on for the f.p.s that I do have. Be warned CS:S players. teh_digi is coming back, with a fistfull of AWP.
Oh, and I'm ill, which sucks. But I'm sure I can buy some sort of cure from the internets.

Keep safe out there people. And remember
*I stole it, but I don't care*
You shouldn't take life to seriously. You'll never get out alive.

#22 On yuck, cold, wet yuck

Good morning and welcome to the circus of horrors.
On today's agenda:
Snow.

Urgh, I hate the stuff.
I just find it so epically, completely, pure unadulterated, pointlessness. Ok, so yeah, it's fun when you're a kid, when you throw snowballs till your hands go numb etc etc etc. But now, aside from being overly cynical and more grown up, I just find it boring. I'm not really an outdoor person, and ergo, I don't like being outdoors, then plus being cold and wet in weather that is already cold, no, that's not really fun in my opinion.
And yeah, no school, but now that I'm in 6th form, no school doesn't equal no work, there's work that I need to do regardless of my being at school or not. That, is me. Aside from not being covered in snow, which I'm not. Since I haven't been outside, because it's yucky.
I don't think I'd mind so much if I had the proper clothing. If I had my skiing gear here, it'd be no problem. I could slap on some salopettes and some wellies or something, a ski jacket and gloves, and I'd be laughing.
But this is England we're talking about here. Snow is not normal for us, especially in February. We have rain, lots and lots and lots of rain. I have umbrellas coming out of my fucking ears, and waterproof jackets by the dozen. Well, not dozen, but, a few.

And I'm off now, because the downstairs computer is next to the window, and that means I have to see the snow out of the corner or my eye, and you know how I hate the snow now.
Also, because I'm gonna go play Fallout3, and punch the doctor in Operation Anchorage so that she's tagged as hostile, and everyone there beats her up endlessly.

Fun times.

And a few tips. No driving, period.
And if you do go out, wrap up, you wouldn't want to catch a cold.
